The Ikon Science team was happy to be in attendance at the URTeC 2023 conference in Denver Colorado where we met lots of new prospects and connected with long time customers. 

This year, our focus topic was Integrated Geoscience Workflows and how our team of experts have worked with customers across unconventional plays to deliver services with truly integrated geomechanics, rock physics, and inversions to improve well planning. 

We delivered this message with proof by showcasing some of our work through case studies and presenting a paper in the technical session, "Integrated Workflows for Drilling Optimization and Enhanced Production", by Venkatesh Anantharamu, Product Manager.

Hart Energy Engages in a Conversation with Venkatesh Anantharamu, Product Manager

Hart Energy spoke with Venki Anantharamu after his technical session where he delivered a presentation on "Integrated Workflows for Drilling Optimization and Enhanced Production" to gain greater understanding of why integrated geoscience workflows are so important. As Venki explained, the best and most accurate results are obtained when all data sets can be leveraged. This includes core data, well log data, seismic data, geologic data information and production data. Once rock physicists apply reservoir properties to elastic properties, they can gain an extremely accurate and holistic view of the data, which improves decision making. These integrated geoscience workflows enable companies to find the ‘sweet spot’ that will provide the best production for faster, safer and cheaper drilling.

Venki went on to explain that the Time-Lapse Ji-Fi capability in RokDoc 2023.3 provides a 4D fluid tracking ability to better understand fluids for production injections, and CCUS workflows.
