The Rock Physics license has received signification functionality and workflow improvements in RokDoc 2025.2. This software release focuses on making it easier to share and reproduce critical cross-plotting, log prediction, and seismic interpretation workflows that help the geoscientist deliver instant value to their teams.
We continue to makes sure that the time spent in the software is informative and that users discover and share a deeper understanding of geoscience data.
In RokDoc 2025.3, our Rock Physics toolset sees powerful upgrades to wavelet estimation and modeling workflows, providing geoscientists with enhanced capabilities for data analysis and interpretation.
Stretch & Squeeze Workflow: Precision, Flexibility, and Efficiency for Rock Physics:
The latest RokDoc release delivers significant advancements for rock physics workflows, centered on usability, precision, and repeatability. At the heart of these updates is the enhanced Multi-Well Wavelet Estimation (MWWE) Stretch & Squeeze tool. Now, users can make direct adjustments to stretch and squeeze sets right from the well viewer, making depth-time calibration more intuitive and accessible. Adjustments can be saved instantly, with no need to run the full wavelet estimation every time. Now geoscientists achieve faster, more precise well ties and can focus energy on analysis rather than repetitive setup.
Storing and re-accessing MWWE sessions is seamless. Users can revisit and modify well ties across all wells in a project, quickly refining results without the need to repopulate data or reconfigure interface settings. Performing well tie from MWWE not only saves time but increases consistency and significantly reduces the risk of human error—key for both day-to-day workflows and robust audit trails. Ultimately, these workflow and usability improvements let teams spend less time on manual steps and more on meaningful interpretation and decision-making.
Smarter Wavelet Estimation and QC
This release also addresses a request from our user community by improving consistency between the QC table and well viewer statistics. Now, you can trust that your wavelet metrics are consistent regardless of where you view them in RokDoc. Improved sampling algorithms mean that null values are handled more intelligently, and the "Composite Trace" option will be reflected on well QC views making outputs robust and clear.
The new option to “Use Average Wavelet” further boosts efficiency: when working with multiple wells, you can unify the wavelet signature in fewer steps, delivering stable and easily comparable outputs across your field. Plus, more detailed tie quality metrics—such as cross-correlation and phase error—are now available directly in the “Inputs” tab. This gives you immediate, quantitative feedback on time-depth alignment, supporting faster and more confident interpretation and well-tie iteration.
Unconventionals: Multi-Well 1D Functions for Enterprise Consistency
Recognizing the scale and complexity of unconventional projects, RokDoc now offers multi-well versions of its popular Unconventional 1D functions. Model parameters can now be applied and tracked across several wells simultaneously, eliminating repetitive manual input and ensuring consistent, scalable analysis on even the largest assets.
The result is dramatically streamlined project setup, reduced likelihood of mistakes, and a major improvement in the efficiency and reliability of rock property predictions.
Conclusion:
All these features are designed with a single goal in mind: to help geoscientists test more scenarios, condition their data more quickly, and confidently predict rock properties so that exploration and development decisions are always based on the best available science. By making workflows faster, more consistent, and more transparent, we’re helping our users tackle more ambitious projects and deliver results at the pace business demands.
We invite you to experience these new Rock Physics capabilities in RokDoc 2025.3 and see firsthand how your workflows can become more productive and impactful. As always, your feedback and insights are what drive our continuous innovation. Discover what’s possible—your success is our mission!
